CARPENTE is a discreet London-based architecture and interior design practice dedicated to creating deeply personal homes defined by material sensitivity, trust and emotional resonance.

Founded by French-born, Swiss-trained architect Christophe Carpente, the studio brings together architectural precision, artistic sensibility and a holistic approach to design – considering every element from exterior setting and interior structure to spatial flow, bespoke furniture, lighting and art curation.

While the practice is today wholly focused on residential commissions, its approach is enriched by a distinguished heritage in the luxury world. Early collaborations with maisons such as Burberry, Cartier, Christian Lacroix, De Beers, Dunhill and Hugo Boss instilled a rare understanding of craft, detail, identity and the emotional experience of space – qualities that define CARPENTE’s residential work today.

Christophe Carpente

A Master of Architecture graduate of ETH Zurich, Christophe’s approach unites the discipline of architecture with the artistry of interior and furniture design.

His formative years with Jean Nouvel in Paris and Antonio Citterio in Milan shaped his dual fascination with grand architectural vision and the intimate poetry of materials and detail – a balance that defines his work today.

Before dedicating his studio exclusively to residential design, Christophe established an international reputation for creating innovative, award-winning retail environments for luxury brands. His celebrated flagship for Christian Lacroix in Tokyo – featuring earthquake-resistant movable glass furniture modules – remains a benchmark in contemporary retail design.

For the past 15 years, Christophe has channelled this breadth of experience into the private realm, crafting homes that are timeless, soulful and exquisitely detailed.
